Experience
I began my teaching career as a lateral entry teacher in 2002 and became certified through the regional licensing center. I received my Undergraduate degree from the University of NC-Chapel Hill and my Master’s in school administration from Gardner Webb University.
I taught eighth grade at Liberty Middle School in Burke County (2002- 2004), and taught seventh and eighth grade at Jacobs Fork Middle (2004- 2016). I have served as assistant principal at Fred T. Foard since 2016.
Education
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill - B.S. in Criminal Justice and Political Science
Gardner Webb University - MA in School Administration
Why I Became an Educator
I pursued a career in education because I always wanted to make a difference in the lives of children and teach them to love math.
Favorite Activities
I love spending time with my family, playing tennis, reading, and traveling, Rhyne athletics, fishing, and conducting small construction projects at home.
Something Unique About Me
It truly has been a unique and incredible experience to be the assistant principal of the high school in which I graduated. Fred T. Foard is where I met my husband, Jeff. We have two sons Zach and Ben, both also graduated from Fred T. Foard.
