BOE Approves 2024-25 School Calendar

The BOE approved the 2024-25 School Calendar and the 2024-25 Challenger Early College school calendar draft in their regular meeting last night. The first student day will be on Monday, August 26, 2024, with high school exams prior to winter break. Take Your Child to the Library Day with Catawba County Library System

While the Catawba County Library System is excited to welcome students and their families every day, we’re especially looking forward to seeing families on Saturday, February 3rd for Take Your Child to the Library Day.We’re giving away the first five books in the Percy Jackson series to the elementary school library with the most students visiting any Catawba County Library on February 3rd.  Your students will also have a chance to be entered into a drawing for their very own copy of The Lightning Thief and 4 tickets to The Green Room’s production of The Lightning Thief – The Percy Jackson Musical! by visiting any of our 7 locations that day.

We hope to see you and your school’s families at any of our 7 locations on Saturday, February 3rd. The Sherrills Ford-Terrell Branch, St Stephens Branch, and Main Library in Newton are open 9am to 6pm on Saturdays.  Our remaining locations - Claremont Branch, Conover Branch, Maiden Branch and Southwest Branch in Mountain View - are open 9am to 2pm on Saturdays.  Activities will be available from 10 am until 2 pm but entry forms can be filled out any time the branch is open that day.
